1. CONCERTS
The Variante Harp & Flute Duo is available to perform at concerts. Whether carrying a full program themselves, or collaborating with other artists… have harp and flute, will travel!

Our concerts are intimate, personal, fun, and sassy. Whether it is a concert in your home, church concert or recital hall concert, we love a captive audience.

For concert bookings, we prefer a minimum of 4 months lead time.

We will provide:

• Promo photos
• Bios
• Programme text and master copy
• Music
• Harp stool

We will need:

• Minimum 5’x5’ sturdy stage area
• Stage hand to help move harp and other equipment
• Microphone
• “Green room”
• Water
• Table for CD sales
• Personnel responsible for CD sales

*please ensure there is adequate lighting for the stage area – we love being able to read our music!

Ticket sales and concert promotion are the responsibility of the hiring party.

2. WEDDINGS
The Variante Harp & Flute Duo take wedding bookings up to a year in advance. For over 13 years, our harp and flute music has enhanced weddings in Toronto, Burlington, Hamilton, Oakville, Guelph, Waterloo and Niagara areas. Elegant and romantic, the sounds of harp and flute set the perfect tone for your wedding day.

We have hundreds of song titles in our repertoire: classical, opera, Celtic, Irish, pop, love songs, Broadway, jazz, hymns and sacred music.

Our years of working together and musical expertise also provides you the option of having us sight-read, that is, learn new music with very little prep time, if needed. Not all musicians can offer this opportunity to you.

We also accommodate requests for additional accompaniment for your vocalist.

For wedding ceremonies, the Variante Harp & Flute Duo plays the prelude, as your guests are being seated prior to the ceremony as well as all parts on the ceremony itself.

The Variante Harp & Flute Duo provides wedding ceremony music for:

• signing of the register
• recessional

*some couples request soft harp music to be played in the background during readings or the vows are being exchanged, to help calm the jitters.

The Variante Harp & Flute Duo is available to provide elegant background music during cocktail receptions and dinner parties. We provide a varied repertoire of classical, jazz, pop, and themed music to suit your occasion.

6. FUNERALS/VISITATIONS

“Soothing, reflective and comforting”…. Music can be one of the most powerful and moving means of expression.

For over 12 years, the Variante Harp and Flute Duo’s music has provided solace during memorials, wakes and funerals. The sounds of harp and flute are a unique, light and contemporary alternative to the traditional organ.

Smith Funeral Homes, Kitching-Steepe Funeral Home, and Turner & Porter Funeral Homes are some from within the industry, who have retained our services.

Sensitive to the needs of grieving families and friends, the duo is capable of performing songs from the deceased’s favourite musical style, and accommodating last-minute music requests. We can provide accompaniment to vocalists as they sing hymns, soft background music during readings, music for a quiet moment of reflection during the service, as well as prior to the service. We communicate with the officiating minister to ensure the service runs smoothly.
